It’s been five years since my daughter was killed. It still hurts every day. I’ll never be over it but I am finally moving on with my life.It’s pitch black when I wake up. I hear a child screaming outside. There’s a little girl in my back yard. She can’t be older than five. She has terrified blue eyes.
Somebody has left her here.
When nobody claims her, I take her in. After all, I’m a professional foster parent. I will look after her like she’s my own child.
But she won’t even tell me her name. I have no idea who I’ve brought into my house.
